Standing on the bed while he sleeps I stare until he acknowledges me. When he does I snuggle up and ask him to kiss every part of me if he wants to go back to sleep. Reminds me of how I always used to get in trouble for staying up late. We had bunk beds and I was always on top. Until we moved and no longer had to share a room. Some things change, some things don’t, this is an inconsistent ocean. But the lantern’s still lit, Always a beacon, always a door. When I heard your voice I wanted to yell, but what you had to say was more important so I kept my cool. If I could add you to my shelf, I would, but that’s impossible so come and go as you please. But don’t be gone too long because one day we’ll no longer be and I don’t want that to happen the one time you’re away. When the wind blows I can smell you. And when the trees sway I can feel you. Grasping me to dance, we spin and you dip me into the cosmos until I glitter with stars. You name each one with a kiss and squint your eyes like you’re inhaling my essence. I’m am but human alone, but with you I’m, something. Something brand new.
Wonderfully sad!

Thank you. I was going for a way to show love and death in one post. Trying different inspirations I guess. I’ll keep working at it. Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your feedback.

Being an only child a bunk bed was futile.

oh I could see that. I fell off the top bunk in my sleep once that was traumatizing.

We get into routine, of allowing someone else to have a sort of an affect on our behaviors without knowing, and by allowing the person to have that affect on us, we’d, letting them control our lives, and everything that they do, would make us react, and we’d become, too RE-active in our own lives, instead of how we should be living our lives: ACTIVE!!!

It’s not what we say, but how we say it. It’s ok to react and its great to be active. What’s not ok is to assume you know what’s going on. That’s where being reactive can really make things worse.
